FACILITY
ENGINEER
Our Client, an International government
organisation in Cape Town, an Equal Opportunity Employer, seeks
the services of a Facility Engineer to serve with the responsibility
for the operation and maintenance of the Consulate complex,
including all major building systems and the related equipment, and
ensuring that all required maintenance is performed at residential
housing units owned or leased in Cape Town.
Supervising all maintenance staff and acting as the single point
of contact for coordinating all maintenance related work, whether at
the Chancery, government owned residences, leased residences or
office space.
Requirements:
1.
Graduate engineer with a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical,
electrical or HVAC field required.
2.
Four years at the engineering management level in addition to six years
in the engineering field related to the planning, design,
construction, cost estimating, scheduling of work, and preparing all
necessary documents associated with the construction of large
commercial facilities required.
3.
Level IV English and Afrikaans Level III required.
4.
Advance knowledge of construction engineering techniques and the ability
to manage staff and knowledge of local rules and regulations that
pertain to the building trades required.
5.
Driver's licence required. Ability
to manage and train a maintenance workforce and manage large amounts
of written data. Ability
to schedule and plan routine and major maintenance projects.
Write scope of work for contractors to bid on.
Ability to use and teach others to use sophisticated test
equipment in trouble shooting building systems problems.
Must have strong managerial skills.
Good computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Power Point, and
basic knowledge of AutoCAD required.
Starting
Salary Range:
R285,243 – 399,335 per annum, PLUS benefits (including
miscellaneous allowance, housing allowance, 13th month
bonus, pension package, excellent
medical coverage, education assistance for dependents, generous
vacation and sick leave benefits).
Eligible for awards and may apply for consideration for a
Special Immigrant Visa.
